We will not be open this year.
The City of Farmington told us to have a sprinkler system installed in the event of a fire. We have tried to work out a reasonable plan to comply, and failed to come to a compromise. They told us they would give us a decision on our plan and they finally did in the eleventh hour leaving us no time to comply in time to open. Apparently it does not matter to them that the building is essentially fireproof. Ironically it is important to note that of all the buildings in the beloved downtown area of the city ONE has a fire prevention system, ONE. The Civic Theater does not (we were once told when they did, we would have to also) and neither does the Warner Mansion which are both city owned. The DDA office does not and neither does a building which was just remodeled by a sitting Councilperson. Nice eh? So much for promoting business in Farmington. We have only been a yearly tradition for 32 years without incident.
We WILL be BIGGER and BETTER next year.
